Ring Vine Inlays Explanation
Banjo/Bass, Guitar & Mandolin

The Banjo Ring Vine

The Banjo Ring Vine Fret Board Inlay Drawing came down to me many years ago.

When I started this business it was one of the first sets we reproduced.

That drawing was the long vine for Banjo Fret Boards

These are longer than a Guitar Fret Board.

They also work well on Bass or Baritone Guitar.

If used on a regular guitar then you should take the top section and place it on the Peg Head for a well matched inlay,

This is as shown on Charles Dick's Guitar above.

Guitar Ring Vine

A few years ago John Greven (Great Luthier) came across an older Washburn Guitar with the same Ring Vine pattern reduced to the size of a guitar.

This is somewhat more delicate and I liked it enough to reproduce this also as our "Guitar Ring Vine".

Because that left a need for a Peg Head Inlay, I designed the one shown above from sections of the Fret Board.  This we include with the Fretboard at no extra charge.

Mandolin Ring Vine

We reduced the Guitar Ring Vine to fit Mandolins for the Peg Head and Fret Board.
