Whole Paua Abalone Shells

Paua Abalone is the strongest colored shell in the world. However, Paua Abalone shells are smaller and thinner than Green Abalone or Red Abalone.  Because of the smaller size of the shells, Paua blanks will average 15% to 25% smaller than Green or Red Abalone shell blanks.  As of this date, DePaule Supply is the only company in the world producing Shell Blanks from Paua Abalone. We use only the best Jewelry Grade shells.  Lower grades will not produce good shell blanks.  We take great care to grind the blanks to thickness and remove any defects in the blanks so that the blanks are good on both sides.

Most Select Blanks Will Be Between 5/8 Inch To 1 & 1/8 Inches Across.  These We Sell As “Paua Abalone, Select”.  The colors of these blanks run from Touquoise Blue to Greens, Reds and Golden yellows.  Some blanks have strong colors while other blanks will be a little more pale in color.  All will look great.

Paua Abalone, Heart Shell Blanks.

Most Paua Heart Blanks Will Be Between 5/8 Inch To 1 & 1/4 Inches Across, These We Sell As “Paua Abalone, Heart”. The colors of these blanks run from Burled Pink to Burled Blue with Golden highlights that show up when polished.  Some blanks have strong colors while other blanks will be a little more pale in color.  All will look great.

These We Sell As “Paua Abalone, Blue”.  The colors of these blanks run
from Deep Blues and Purples to Touquoise Blue.  All will have good color.
